4 Weeks post-op. With 4 weeks of nothing but gout attacks from one joint to the next.

My husband is 4 weeks post-op and is having the worst time of his life. What can be done for his gout? He was told he can't take any of your typical medicine for gout, but yet he is in severe pain. How do we get the gout under control. Any feedback with experience greatly appreciated.

A few years ago I had recurring episodes of something that appeared to be gout. At least my doctor thought it was. I found relief by putting a heat pad on my feet for an hour or so.

Ask your surgeon if he can take tart cherry juice or black cherry (or supplements). Also celery seed (I get pill form) is supposed to help. Be sure he's staying very hydrated.
