What is going in with my body!

Hello all my name is Lorraine and I just had my lap band surgery aug. 24 2007 and it seems like I am hungry all the time, my stomach makes growling noises and it also feels like I have a cramp on the left side of my stomach constantly. I have started to eat like broiled fish along with the protein shakes. Am I suppose to be feeling this way?

I too have the growling stomach. I just had my band put in on Monday, Aug 27th. I feel hungry, but I think it's more mental than physical. I hear the first 2 weeks are the hardest, emotionally. My doctor put me on a strict diet. My band is really tight. I can only have Clear Liquids for week 1. Week 2 I can introduce smooth/pureed foods. juice, V8, Blended Soups, Jamba Juice. Week 3 I can start on mushy fish, cotto and cheese. Week 4-6 I can add more hearty foods like red meat, pork, etc... but only in small quantities and I was told to 'test them out' first before diving in.

I hope you feel better. Trust me, I'm right there with ya.

I was given a great diet of 4-6 oz every 2-3 hours 6 times a day; 4 of those meals need to be a Medifast shake, pudding or soup and the other two meals are pureed soups of your choice (even chicken noodle soup). I felt a little need for something extra today for the first time (today is the first day of my period). Other than today I haven't felt hungry once (and I am 300 lbs). I took two tablespoons of mandarin orange salad dressing and that took off my urge for something savory. So, actually, I wasn't hungry, I was craving.

Thanks Darknlovely...we will keep in touch...you can pm me anytime girl...lets do this! I get my first fill on Tuesday 4cc's in a 10 cc band...I can't wait for some restriction.
