2nd fill....now I have restriction!

Recommended Posts

Hi all gosh sorry that I haven't been on in ages. Been mad around here so lots of stress eating! :D

Anyway went for my 2nd fill today and had it done under xray. Was quite interesting to watch what he was doing. Great doc (not my usual doc). Anyway I was supposed to have 1ml in there but there was nothing! But that is ok as I was freaking out thinking that I had bugger all restriction on 1ml. So I now have 2ml in my band so hopefully that will kickstart the weightloss again. I have only lost .3kg but I'm ok with that as I thought I'd put it on. I'm so glad that I haven't put it on.

The fill really is no big deal. Doesn't it feel weird when they put the needle in the port. That's an icky feeling for me LOL.

Anyway just touching base.

Nicky,

Glad to hear your fill is helping. I had my first fill of 1.0cc last Friday and it didn't do much at all. I'm waiting to hear from my doctor if/when I can have another one done. I don't like this business of feeling unrestricted when I KNOW there is a band in there!!!! Hopefully fill #2 will help!!

I just had my second fill on Tuesday when I had my port revision surgery (my port flipped). I am excited to say that I think I am finally understanding what true restriction is with this fill. I am hoping it stays this way, and is not just swelling.

I'm excited to get my next fill on Wed. and a little scared - not sure how much he should put in. i really want to lose weight but always have trouble with pbing and have enjoyed not doing that for about a month since my unfill. i've also kept my weight steady but no loss and i really want to get at least 10lbs off by october.

Hi, I had my second fill yesterday. I drank a few sips of Water befoer i left and seemed fine. I didn't have any more liquid until i got home and then it hit me saliva, foam, slime. I also had pain in my chest the balling up feeling. I had a rough night. This morning I 'm drinking hot tea and seems to be okay so far. The Dr. put me at 3cc. I didn't have much restriction before. Is this normal on fills?? I haven't even tried to eat anything mushy yet I'm afraid. I just trying to see if the liquid will fare. help Marci

OK, now I want a second fill.

I am doing OK, but I know I can eat too much. I think my fill is 1.65, and now I want to go to 2. something.

in my 4cc band that is.

It's been about a month since the 2nd fill and WOW! I still get hungry, yes my eyes are still bigger than my band will allow me to eat yet I am losing weight. Yeah!!! I'm really having to pace myself. I have found that eating on the run is a NO-NO. I have to settle down, make myself comfortable so that I don't eat too fast. I try to keep my bite portions down to about 1/2" of meat, fruit, vegetables and for soft foods about 1/2 teaspoon at a time. I have 'up-chucked' some darn tasty food over this past month and it is absolutely heartbreaking to have to lose my food in this manner. I know that I am still too passionate about food, however, I am working to reduce the focus of food in my life.

As for the feeling during the port fill, I have never felt anything.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
