How often do you weigh yourself?

It is an individual choice. I weigh everyday. It keeps me accountable. Even if I am on a stall and the scale hasn't moved, it makes me more determined. I know it will move again. If I only weighed once a week and was in a stall and didn't know it, it would be quite shocking to discover the scale hadn't moved in a week.

Same here! I don't let myself sweat over small gains but daily keeps me accountable and let's me know about a stall quicker so I can bust it.

I weigh myself once per week. I was weighing myself daily and then I hit a stall and it got me down to not see the scale move. So I started working out and started weighing myself 1x per week. This works better for me because it doesn't let me get discouraged. Stalls can be hard on us especially when we get used to seeing the scale go down. I try my hardest to do good and I know I will see some type of weight loss at the end of the week.

I can't help it. I weigh myself daily. If I didn't, I would be thinking about it all day.

Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.

Sleeved 2/20/2015

Height 5'2", age 51

HW: 297

SW: 267

My lowest weight was 149, I went back up to 165

CW: 157-today I've been back and forth from 155 to 157

I weight myself daily and yes sometimes this habit becomes exhausting. But, this is also the time I know I'm getting off track, I become exhausted because I've either had a gain or the scales haven't moved in months and I know I have to accept this and take responsibility for the bags of candy I've eaten or the greasy fast food I told myself wouldn't hurt even though I know it does. This is the time I start taking responsibility and purging my life of foods i'm not responsible enough to keep in my house. So yes weighing everyday is a must for me. I also walk 3 to 5 miles per day.

I don't weigh myself at all. I don't own a scale and don't care to. I never weighted myself before my sleeve surgery. I am a regular visitor to many doctors and specialist and so I am aware of what I weight. I don't want to be dependent on a scale to track my progress. I try my hardest to stick to what my doctor requirements and so far I have lost 68 lbs since April 13, 2016. Do what is right for you! Don't let others numbers determine yours.

At only 2 months post-op, I weigh myself 2x/day while I'm home but I've had a couple of stretches of travel where I didn't have a scale available.

It's not making me crazy- yet! I find it comforting to check in and become super familiar with my daily fluctuations so those don't throw me off later.

I've measured myself 3 times so far. I stupidly didn't measure my waist, bust or hips pre-op so I have no idea how much I lost there !

I don't think there is a "norm"....it all depends on what works for you. If weighing everyday is stressful to you then don't do it. For me I have to weigh everyday. It keeps me on track. I don't let myself get discouraged with little fluctuations as I've done this for so long I have a good idea of how my body works.............in the past I've learned when I'm gaining weight I'm not weighing myself daily....So my plan is to keep this up.

I think everyone is different. I have always liked weighing myself daily, even when I was at my heaviest. I like knowing where I'm at. Then once a week I do my measurements. The measurements are interesting to watch. I'd suggest doing the measurements. Weeks when I've lost very little, you still see a measurement change somewhere.

I was guilty of weighing myself everyday. My doctors office scale is always way lower than what it tells me at home. I decided to weigh myself every Friday to avoid obsessing and minor weight fluctuations that would have me freaking out!!

However you weigh, be consistent- meaning time of day, what you're wearing ( or not wearing!) and on the same scale.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
