Gastric Sleeve 26th July 2016 - Beautiful Beings Czech Republic

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am about to do a Gastric Sleeve at Beautiful Beings. I am concerned about the aftercare.

Do you think the GP in the Uk would give the support with the exams and dietician?

If anyone can reply I do appreciate.

Thanks

I'm really thinking of going to beautiful beings in January 2017 for the sleave operation. I'm worried about after care. Can anyone give me any information. Tia

Hi Angela,

Congratulations! It was the best decision I ever made.

If I'm being fully honest my GP hasn't done an awful lot with me. I've heard other people having regular tests being on Vitamins etc but I am 5 months post surgery 5 stone down and am coping fine. I've had a check up with my GP they did take blood which showed everything is good and have left me get on with things.

Every GP is different bare that in mind. Have you thought about talking to them? Just to put your mind at rest?

Wishing you all the best for your surgery.

:-)

I'm booked in for the 24th. 2 weeks to go so I've been told no fizzy juice and to cut down.I've got this horrible feeling ill go over there and they will test me and I won't be able to get it done. I always have this underlying thought I may have an ulcer as I get heart burn alot....I hope I'm wrong. The girls at beautiful beings are great. Someone meets me at prague on the 22nd Jan and takes me the 2 hour journey to our hotel. I get tests done in the Monday and op on the Tuesday. I'm so scared of this after pain everyone is on about.

The tia meant thanks in advance)

Hi Angela,

I can't remember his name but he was I'd say in his 30s dark hair, quite easy on the eye. I know that's not exactly helpful but I was so nervous on the day I didn't take much in. Good job I had my mother with me.

Hi Louise,

That's great news. Wish you all the best for your op. I know it's easier said than done as I've come out the other side but there is nothing to worry about.

They discovered I had an hiatus hernia during the endoscopy and it was fine to go ahead. If you are concerned why don't you talk to the girls at beautiful beings maybe they can reassure you.

Yes I did a liver shrinking diet I found on the internet and managed to lose a stone before my op.

Yes they picked me up from Prague also, make sure you hydrate well on the Monday. Yes the op will take place on Tuesday afternoon there are usually three British so you will have some company and your rooms are all next door to each other which i thought was reassuring. The nurses are lovely and the Dr who checks in after the op is lovely. Everything runs like clock work over there and it's very clean too.

I didn't experience any pain if I'm being honest. I went down to theatre around 2ish and I remember briefly waking up around 7ish, my mum was there and I dropped back off and didn't get up until the next day when they were taking me back to my room. The girl Tasha who had it done with me didn't have any pain. Obviously the site wounds were a little sore but I would recommend as soon as you feel comfortable to start walking around. And even if you're not in much pain if they offer you pain relief take it as it helps with moving around.

If you're fine with drinking plain Water great but if not in Aldo's you can buy those little bottles of squash - the low cal squeezy ones. I'd get some of them to help the Water go down. But if you don't struggle with plain water then don't worry.

Wishing you all the best. It was the best decision in the world for me.

Good luck and keep us updated :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
