Sorry I didn't finish - I said for me and my health - everyone here should not feel like a failure - we should understand that this is a tool like another treadmill - just a tool we still have to use it and change our lives

How much walking are you all doing. I'm day 2 and only feel like sleeping ?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've been walking a lot! Started about an hour after I got to my room. Walked 1 1/2 miles on both Monday after surgery, and on Tuesday prior to coming home. Wednesday I walked around the block. Today I walked a mile. The walking has been a huge help. While I was at the hospital I woke up hurting around 4 a.m. I got up and did 7 laps around the hospital floor and felt much better. Remember, not everyone is affected the same. I had no side effects like nausea or dizziness. Not even extremely tired. Perhaps, I'm just fortunate.

Hi all. Got sleeved 3:30pm yesterday. Bit of pain to begin with but nothing too bad. The gas pain is worse & surprisingly my stomach doesn't hurt at all. Drugs are my friend. Just had half a bowl of chicken broth & no pain, no nausea. Winning. Speedy recovery to everyone.

I totally agree with you. I too was sleeved on Monday. I had no real pain. Just uncomfortable from the gas. I kept feeling like a rib was poking into my lung.

I am self pay. I was supposed to be there overnight. But since the surgery was at a surgical center and not a full scale hospital they keep special overnight staff for these procedures and were unable to staff it for me. So my surgeon consented to send me home. I'm sitting in the passenger seat hugging a pillow. Wish me luck on the 2 flights of stairs I have to climb.

I stayed overnight, but to be honest, the bed was so uncomfortable and I keep being disturbed by the other patient in my room. I slept at home last night and got a great nights sleep. Wishing you a speedy recovery @@Boudala

Jesus loves you!!!

@@southbound I'm struggling with the fluids. Just had some yoghurt and my stomach is doing flip flops from the gas. Going to go out for a walk in a few minutes to help with it. Not much pain at all though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
