Any October 2016 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Made it through my surgery Monday! They kept me in the hospital two nights because anything I drank made me nauseous so I was not drinking enough for them to discharge me. Heading home today though. Pain is managed and not much nausea. These gas pains are for the birds! It's worse that the surgery pain. Lol!!

@bwyjunky79-great that you are able to take in liquids. The gas gets better-lots of walking. I stayed an extra night as well for the same reason. It's gets better! Welcome to the losers bench! Speedy recovery

I'm still having gas and I had surgery Monday morning. Lots of burping and just recently flatulating.

Hang in there anyone that's scared and not yet been sleeved! It must be hard being in late Oct and reading all our scary posts. I had my op on the 5th so was one of the early ones. I also had my gallbladder out.

I wanted to reassure any scaredy cats like me out there as I was really terrified and dreading it.

I'm a week in and feel really good.

I only needed pain meds for the 1st few hours after coming round. I had terrible nausea but the nurse told me that the nausea could be from the morphine so we knocked it to 'on demand' and I was fine after that and have never needed pain meds since. So please bare that in mind if you are feeling nauseous and on morphine you may want to try asking for it on demand. I took meds for acid reflux for a few days but that seems fine to be now.

Attaching pic of one of my incisions as the steristrips just came off. It looks red but it's a small incision(Multivitamin for scale). No stitches and not sore. It can be scary when you see 7 ( in my case) bandages so I wanted to reassure you.

Hoping that those of you still to be done have such an easy recovery. Hugs and good luck X post-300870-14763277766309_thumb.jpg

I am one week and two days out. I agree completely with what @@lowbmi65 said. The recovery has not been near what I thought it would be. Monday was six days out and I went to my sons last Jr high football game. I'm still a bit sore, but more like muscle soreness. Rocking out the puréed foods. So thankful for the opportunity to better my health.

You've got this!!! Go for it!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
