  2. Hi guys! I had my surgery Thursday morning with Dr. Robbins - love him! The only real pain I've had is at the drain site, and I've managed to make it on one to two doses of pain meds each day. I try to walk every 2-3 hours. The only problems I am having is getting all my Water in & the nausea. The nausea is horrible, but I'll take it over the pain! I got on the scales this morning & am down 50 pounds from my highest weight. Something to really Celebrate amidst the bouts of nausea. Flowers nurses were top notch & incredible throughout! 4. Had surgery Thursday & most of the afternoon was a blur. Got up & walked often. The only pain is the drain site, but the nausea was horrendous! I'm ready to feel more in control of myself but I know that won't really happen until the drain is removed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. My Dr made me switch from Quest Protein shakes to Bariatric Advantage & that has been hell!! I loved Quest & was doing fine but they were afraid that my liver wouldn't shrink enough. Had it not been for coffee, I wouldn't be making it through this! Surgery is Thursday so I'm pushing through. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. I am 2 days in, and so far so good. All the broth taste like crap so I'm making it on Protein shakes, Jello, Water & Crystal Light. I don't have the dreaded headaches yet. I haven't second guessed yet... That will probably happen the night before, but I hope not. I have my first goal outfit picked out & my 100 pound reward. Setting those goals really helped to focus me. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. I don't think I've ever analyzed food as much in my entire life, but last night as I sat around with my sister sharing my last glass of our fav wine and pasta - I felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend...food. I know that I will eat again, but I feel like my whole world is going to change in 11 days. The thing I've relied on to give me comfort and fill voids and give me stress relief is over. I get to find new outlets because I'm taking the first step to get healthy. I am looking forward to taking my stress out at the track, to filling voids by playing football and skiing with my nieces and nephews, running 5ks with my sister, and eventually - I'm going to skydive. What I have come to realize is that food wasn't ever giving me comfort, it has been holding me back, my old friend is my new nemesis. New challenges, new choices, new goals, new food, and in just a little while, a new me! Anyone else experiencing similar things? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I just found out that we have to take B12 injections post surgery! I'm extremely nervous around needles - stems from childhood trauma - anyone know how often we take those? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I am entering my 4th year teaching high school & 2nd year of graduate school. I'm a bit of a workaholic, and was able to get surgery scheduled for the week before our fall break in October. I am really beginning to worry about how much the pre & post op diets will zap my energy. I am constantly on the go & don't want to fall behind, but I am not waiting to have this surgery! My boss knows that I'm having surgery but not specifics, and is extremely supportive of me taking care of myself. Any tips for energy boosts? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
