Prescription weight loss medication

I go see my doctor tomorrow for an official weigh in. Before he did my endoscopy he was telling me to get all my blood work done because there were possibly medications that were out there to help me with weight loss. I have not been successful with pre-op weight loss. Even though I've been drinking 2 shakes a day and eating lean meat and some vegetables for the past 3 weeks. I have actually gained weight. My psych thinks it could be the psych meds inhibiting the weight loss. Anyway what options are out there for prescription medication weight loss. I haven't found much online and wondering what the surgeon was referring too. I did my blood work, EKG and Chest xrays for him 2 weeks ago and will find out the results tomorrow.

Thanks

I took Phentermine until the insurance made me stop. I gained almost 27 pounds after :-/ Good luck...I'm rooting for you!

Let me preface by saying I'm no doctor - but I found that doing all shakes and no solid food really drops the lbs. If it were me I'd try that for a few days to see what results I get before taking WL medication.

I agree with gemigirl... I have noticed that when I eat a big Breakfast but stick to nothing but Protein shakes, I tend to lose weight were as eating lean meats and vegetables makes me gain.

However, I took Phentermine as well and had NO success whats so ever with it. I also took Qsymia and had quite a bit of success. I lost 30 lbs in about 6 months on it.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you!

I lost 2.75 inches on my waist and 3.8lbs. To me that makes no sense whatsoever. But because I lost inches and weight they decided that a WL drug was not needed right now.
