Looking for people who are likely to get surgery in Spring 2017!

Recommended Posts

I was just approved to start the Stage II Molina Bariatric Surgery Program(Apple Health) last week! (8/11) First NUT appointment is today and I'm already overwhelmed by all the criteria. Lol I'm so nervous because I soooo don't want to screw this opportunity up.

I'm constantly thinking of how many times I've let myself down doing other things. I already know that I won't have the money to afford this in the future, so I better cut the crap right now.. lol Argh! My nerves.. so anxious.. Anyone starting their journey now and looking at Spring 2017 surgery date (If all goes well) ?

I'm Hoping to have surgery this November, but I'm just commenting to say that time will fly! I had 6 months and now I've got one more diet visit, and a class and surgery shortly after. Lol.

I started my insurance required 6 months of NUT appointments in July. I should be all done by December. I'm hoping to have the surgery in early January or February 2017.

Yes, I can't believe I'm (almost) already two months down from when I began the process. It is going to be so fast!

Here's to making the best choice for our health and happiness!

I'll hopefully be having a band to bypass revision in January or February of 2017. Good luck with all of your requirements! The time will fly by.

Yes totally!!! 2017 is knocking at the door!! Well, the Fall in general... I don't understand these weeks anymore. I don't recall time going this fast when I was smaller? Seemed like it took forever to even get a birthday! lol

Are you a teacher/professor? Or working for a school district? Asking bc you said you are off all summer..

You have a bit of time ahead of you as well. Have decided on which of the procedure you want? :)

I'm still on the fence.. one day sleeve another bypass. Smh probably decide once I meet with the surgeon..

I am in my 4th month of my 12 month health education program through my insurance. I have 8 more months to go. UGH! It's went fast so far, but when I look at the time that still needs to go by I get depressed. 12 months is a long wait! I'm hoping for a April or May surgery date. I've already done my stress test, and I have to get a breathing test done for my pulmonologist to see if I have COPD on Sept. 12th. Then I have to do my sleep study on Sept. 19th. On Sept. 21st, I have 3 appts at the surgeons office. First with the Psychologist, then the NUT, then the PA for the clinic/program. I'm not too sure what is supposed to happen after that. I guess I'll find out on the 21st.

BTW, I am 5'6", HW 280 CW 270 GW maybe 145 or so (we'll see).

I'm hoping for spring, but I'm at the very beginning. I have Molina as well and am waiting for the pre-approval just to see the UW.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
