San Antonio Texas anyone?

Recommended Posts

I'm seriously considering this and just wanted to know if anyone can give some feedback on any of the hospitals and/or doc's here in Satown. I've attended one seminar and was pleased but would like some more info from people who have been through this. Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated:o

Hi, I saw your post about SA docs, and thought I'd say "hi". My husband and I are also looking into having lapband surgery, so we're doing research also. I'd be glad to share whatever info I can find with you.

Edie :)

i Had My Surgery Done At Aigb By Dr. Wright. He Is A Wonderful Doctor. I Will Try To Answer Any Questions You May Have.

I too went to Dr. Wright. Great surgeon - poor office staff. There were no followup calls, appointment reminders, and I had to tell them what pre-op testing Dr. Wright requested. Not too encouraging going into something like this! However, the surgergy clinic staff are great. I was banded on 8/29 and am questioning if I even have a band. I am eating and drinking just as I did pre-op. I need a fill quick!! My scars are looking good (he used the "superglue" stuff) and I had little to no pain after the surgery. I would definately reccomend Dr. Wright.

I had lap band surgery in July 2006 with Dr. Seger at New Dimensions in San Antonio and to date have lost 155lbs. I had no complications with the surgery or my recovery. Dr. Seger and the other doctors at New Dimensions are very supportive to their patients and the office staff is great too. I would definately recommend Dr. Seger or any of the other doctors at New Dimensions.

I'm planning to go to Dr. Jorge Rincon. I've been in touch with his office and my consultation is next Thursday. I'll keep you posted. Good luck!

So I've been trying to register for a info seminar with New Deminsions, and I'm not having any luck. I registered online over 3 weeks ago and never heard anything. Then I tried calling them at the number from the website, and it went to this really weird voice mail that sounded like people were talking in the background and didn't know that they were recording. I left a message anyway, and still haven't heard back 2 weeks later. It just makes me think they are shady, but they are the ones that are in my provider network.

I had lap band surgery with Dr. Ramiro "Sonny" Cavazos at North Esat Baptist on Sept 24. He is great. Very easy to talk with. Gives you the pros and cons of all types of svailable surgery and a very balanced informative approach. My husband and I attended one of his lectures and it really convinced my husband that this was a good idea. Dr. Cavazos trained under the physician who did the early testing for lap banding in the US in California, so is very comfortable with the procedure and has excellant success rates and low complication rates. Being a nurse, this was important to me. Be sure to ask lots of questions including complication rates and how many lap bands a surgeon has done before choosing the right person for your surgery.

I had my surgery done by Dr. Stegaman and he is wonderful. New Deminsions is Great I would not have changed. They are transitioning to a new location so it may be hard to get in to a seminar. However it is worth the wait. The whole team is with you every step of the way from insurance approval to each fill. He is very active in your pre op and post op. I like him the best. I have had no complications and healed very well. The whole staff is very helpful.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
