Anyone taken liquid antibiotics shortly after surgery?

I had my sleeve done July 6, so 3 weeks Post-op. I went to the ER yesterday after doctors advice from having sharp painful chest pains and shortness of breath. After a slew of tests thankfully there was nothing wrong with heart or lungs and I'm healing as expected. However my kidneys were inflamed so I was sent home with liquid antibiotics. I took it this morning 30 minutes after my Water based Protein drink, but threw it up. Any suggestions on keeping the meds down.
