I showered as soon as I got home, but they did offer it to me in the hosp. I have a surgical glue and that stayed put. Ditto what chacha77 said about baths.

My procedure was the 26th too. I came home Wednesday nite. The first nite home I didn't sleep at all. Last nite was better. My pain has decreased a lot. I do feel a little itchy around where my marks are. Still moving slow. Taking it one day at a time. I'm ready to go outside to walk but it's so dang hot. The dr told me not to go out in the heat. Walk around the house. What have you all been eating? I can do cottage cheese, but I do eat Greek yogurt with one splenda

Mudgy6 All I can have for 3 weeks is liquids. How is the cottage cheese and yogurt feeling?

Today I had a post op visit with my GP. My blood pressure before surgery has been consistently high for about a year now. Today it was 122/67! So cool to see signs that our bodies are getting healthier!

Every day is getting better pain and energy-wise. Passing gas, but no movement yet. Have been taking about three walks a day to help move things along. Yay kgarrettsatx on the weight loss!!

2 days post op (surgery on 27th).. My bowels are soooo gurgly and talking non stop. Hopefully something comes from all the noises? I'm able to get my Protein and Water in OK. Large incision is really tender and kind of concave and weird looking. Made the mistake of taking too large a drink today, instantly felt it in my chest- freaked me out.

How are you getting Protein? I am 3 days post op and can barely keep Water down. I'm so nauseous, I'm afraid to try anything else.

Had anyone tried eating or drinking since surgery? I've only been able to keep down a couple bites of yogurt and 2 sips of Soup besides Water, which still pains me. I feel like I need calories, but am afraid to eat.

Maybe just stick to liquids for a little bit? And try a variety of liquids. I've heard of peeps not tolerating Water, but find something else. I've been drinking a mixture of organic bone broth and organic chicken broth. (Bone broth has a lot of Protein in it, but I need the regular broth to add more taste to it) I heat it up, put it in a small thermos n then measure out my two tablespoon sips every 15 min. I've also tolerated premier Protein drinks, Vitamin water zero, milk, and sf popsicles so far. Keep trying, u r bound to find something. Did the hospital give you anti nausea pills? They sent me home with zofran. Its a pill that melts under your tongue. Tastes nasty, but works. Also, if it takes you much longer to get something down consistently I'd call your surgeon. Good luck and keep us posted.

Premier Protein banana and caramel drinks. They are still so tasty and 1 box has 30grams of protein in it.

Try drinking fluids at different temps. Try tea, sugar free popsicles, broth, etc. Do you don't anti-nausea pills?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
