1st Day of Pre Op Liquid Diet- Surgery in 8 days

Recommended Posts

Today is my 1st day of my pre op liquid diet.

I had a Protein shake with greek yogurt and coconut Water for Bfast.

Home made vegetable broth for lunch and a SF popsicle.

A Green drink with hemp Protein for a snack

and a Protein Shake with almond milk for dinner with a half cup of SF Jello.

I drank 12 8oz cups of Water.

I had worked out for 40 min doing cardio and I'm afraid I've created this headache that won't go away.

Is the headache from heat, exercise exertion or lack of food? Has anyone overcome this feeling. I don't want to think I'll have this headache until after surgery. :(

...please help?

Thank you!

Headaches are generally just from the detox - just drink lots of water! Once you have flushed it all out (around day 4) you start to feel much better and the headaches stop. Good luck!

Thanks for the post. It's great that we're both preparing for a better future! See you on the Losers Bench! :)

UPDATE: Day 2 Drinking a little salted vegetable broth helped with the headache. I'm doing better today.

Day two for me. My Pre Op diet consists of only Protein shakes and sf Jello. I'm dying from all the sweetness... The last thing you want to do on an empty stomach is drink something sweet... Any tips or tricks?

UPDATE: Day 3 of liquid Diet. Feeling so much better now. Trying not to go too long without drinking something.

Still within my 1280 cal and not in pain anymore.

Pre Op today, I'm thrilled and Dr. Pham is happy that I've lost 26 total pounds!

Surgery next Wednesday and Sunday I'm going to tell my family I'm having surgery......we shall see how they take the news.

Did anyone else get Norco for pain after surgery?

For me it was the Diet Mtn. Dew withdrawal. Note to self...there are a bunch of rather addictive food additives I'd rather not ever have in my system again. F*** them. I'll stick to good and natural.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
