Waiting to hear from Insurance grrrr

So I've been at this process for a year and a half. I started then changed my mind and decided to loose weight on my own again. I quickly hit a plateau and decided that the surgery was definitely a necessity for me. so I had to do all of my appointments over again and now everything has been submitted and it's been 2 weeks and I have not heard back from the coordinator. I spoke to her last week she says she has not heard back from the insurance yet and I am going crazy! I start a new job next week and I'm trying to figure everything out because I know I am going to need time off to recover but it's a brand new job. I really hope they understand that my health comes first and I've been battling with this all of my life and have been going through this process for over 1 year! any ideas or suggestions on how to deal with this waiting part with the insurance company? anybody out there have Horizon NJ Health Insurance? how long did it take you to get your approval? thanks so much for the help
