Spinning class?

Recommended Posts

hi jm,

in my opinion....the spin shoes are essential. they keep your legs in place and i feel like i get a better workout. also when i forget them and have to use my regular sneakers..i am now worried my foot will slip out while riding.

someone that used to work for me had this happen and had a big gash in her leg.

i got mine on ebay.....they arent too expensive.

dibaby; absolutely you can get them. they are pretty unisex so maybe look at mens too

thks

oh one thing i forgot...

i use 2 things to avoid butt soreness during spin class.

they have bike shorts with the cushion in the seat area. you can get them at any sports store like sports authority, academy, paragon, etc

they also have a cushioned seat that you can put on top of the seat. this works well too but my only problem with this is i keep forgetting them....

I have mens spinning shoes and I am sure you can find those in your size. Also, they are supposed to be snug (they tell me).

I LOVE spinning class. I have been doing it for about 3 months now 3 days a week in combo with other exercise. The soreness from the seat went away for me after about the 3rd time.

I just started my spin classes but I had read somewhere in a post that there were cushions you could get for the seats. Where can I find one? The spinning doesn't make me sore the seat does

Spinning seems very hard for an outsider but believe me it is great fun way to get cardio in. My advice...go at your own pace but keep moving, your butt will be sore at first but it gets better! I have been doing the class for a while without the shoes or the seat, but since I moving up to 2 days a week I will invest in the shoes and the padded butt biking shorts!!! the padded seat moves around to much for me. look for an instructor that will push you and that changes up the routine a little. Yell, scream when you need to boost yourself up that "hill", then clap for your self after making it up that "hill" it helps!

hi

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Spinning..

i credit spinning for helping me with much of my weight loss. that and 2 other great classes: total conditioning and kickboxing

key for me are a great pair of cycle bike shorts with the cushioned booty. the first time i did spin without padding.....YOUSER!

i also need the spin shoes because they keep my foot in the correct position.

i had a hard time finding the correct shoes for spin when i lived in NYC (of all places). here is texas all of the bike shops have lots of options.

target/academy/modell's all have the cushioned seats in the bicycle area.

if you are just starting....just sit in the back and go at your own pace. the thing i love about this is any level can participate. just go to a few different instructors to find what you like.

i love rhythm based classes. a friend of mine loves technical.

just dont give up after 1-2 classes. i hated it at first and now i'm obsessed with it after going for about 5 years.

i am now doing the MS150 here in texas....all a result of conditioning in spin

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
