curlysue86 20 Posted June 27, 2016 I do soft chewies for all my Vitamins. And, powder Vitamins that I mix up into milk. My surgeon told me that I cannot take a pill. And plus all my pain meds and everything --I'm taking is all liquid form. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
ACJordan 38 Posted June 27, 2016 You should be fine. By the way, Celebrate makes two kinds of chewable Multivitamins, one is a soft chewy and the other is like a sweet tart. Both are good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Awesome, thank you for the info.
cajackson 20 Posted June 27, 2016 Am I the only person who takes all Gummy Vitamins? Lol #ImABigBaby Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App No I do chewable my surgeon. Actually doesn't want me to do anything but a chewable, he stated gummies don't absorb as well after surgery, but every surgeon is different. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I used Celebrate Vitamins at first especially since they are local for me. After about a month they weren't so great. My surgeons office offered me Bariactive brand. The mail them to my house (multivitamins, Calcium, Iron and B12 spray) they melt in your mouth and they are pretty good. Qwalla 132 Posted June 27, 2016 Surgeon told me no Gummy Vitamins. They could cause blocking and dont digest well. I think every surgeon is different. Mine recommends bariatric chewable vitamins. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

j16 166 Posted July 3, 2016 I've been curious about pills/vitamins. I was told I would have to use chewable Vitamins for three months after surgery. I was told to keep taking my omeprazole and to start taking a stool softener beginning two days after surgery. Both of these are regular capsule size and I haven't had any problems swallowing them. I don't know why I need chewable vitamins because I think I could easily get them down also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Ruin's Angel 6 Posted July 3, 2016 I was told if the pills are very large to cut them into pieces with a pill cutter or to crush them. I also take Bariatric Choice's new All-In-One chewable Vitamins. They include everything so I don't have to get any extras on the side. I was paranoid about swallowing my Omeprazole capsules so I open them up and empty them into my yogurt.
