Back from Vacation and Surgery Date Set-Need to get my head in the game

I recently went on a long road trip and had such a nice time. Funny thing is, I didn't feel fat for most of this vacation. I felt free of judgement and didn't care what people thought! Maybe it was going to the Midwest where a lot of folks are overweight, or maybe just being around so many people who loved me (my family) that made me feel pretty good about myself. Now I am back home in CA. and my surgery date has been set. I haven't dieted or thought about food restriction for over a month! I am happy to have my date but wonder if I have prepared enough? If I will be able to succeed on the pre-op liquid diet, etc. I need to get my head in the game and wonder if anyone else has felt the same way?

I thought I would breeze through the liquid diet, but I had to do it 2 weeks pre-op and 3 weeks post-op. I had a rough time, but I did it! I REALLY had to keep my eyes on the prize, though. I wanted my surgery more than I ever wanted a lot of things. I feel so blessed to have my sleeve finally. Be prepared to get really tired of liquids, but remember that it is for SUCH a worthwhile pay-off. Sugar free popsicles were and are my salvation! I am only barely a month post-op, and the liquid diet turmoil is already fading away in my memory as just a challenge that made me appreciate good, healthy food. Best wishes to you on your journey!!!

I am having my surgery on August. 1st. I am also having a hard time learning how to navigat this forum. Does anyone have a link to the instructions? Like how do I quickly see that I have responses to my post, or how do I reply to an individual? Are there special meeting times for the chat room etc. Thanks for any help you can provide.
