Surgery date 8/1/16!

I just got an email from my surgeons office that 8/1/16 is my surgery date if I want it. Heck yeah! I'll take it.

I'm waiting on official confirmation but it looks like I have date.

6 weeks before the pre op diet starts.

I'm excited.

How did your surgery go? I had a pretty bad reaction to the anesthesia and was miserable but am feeling a bit better today.

Hey @ Diamndgrl @ L. Knight Surgery went well. Very little pain. I always wake up a little out of it from anesthesia. I start the soft food stage today. I'm getting in my liquids. Protein has been a struggle since I'm lactose intolerant now. I think I will try an Isopure Protein Drink. Weight loss is averaging 3-5 lbs. a week.

Congrats on your successful surgery and continued weight loss!! I had my band to bypass revision done on 8/1/16 as well and have I've lost 17 lbs so far. I've been struggling a bit to get in all of my Water but I'm getting there. I'm still on puréed foods and actually start soft foods on Monday and I can't wait! Good luck as you continue on your journey.

Thank you @Wax_Poetic. Excellent work dropping 17 lbs. so far. I found out adding Crystal Lite can help increase Water consumption.

How long til you guys were moved to puréed foods? I'm 10 days out and really want something besides a protein shake!

@@Diamndgrl I was on full liquids for one week following my hospital stay. After that I was on puréed foods for 2 weeks. I was like you and couldn't wait to eat other foods but it gets old fast (at least it did for me). I ended up eating a lot of puréed fruits and soups. I am on day 21 post op and finally moving on to soft foods!! I ate a scrambled egg with picante sauce this morning and it was heavenly! Lol

Oh my goodness an egg sounds heavenly!!!! I just met a friend for lunch and had tomato soup.....again????. I'm sooooo sick of soup! I have my follow up on Wednesday and will hopefully get moved to puréed foods then. I'm craving refried beans!

@@Wax_Poetic how is your weight loss going? I'm only 6lbs down from surgery and I've followed directions to a T. Mine just seems a little slow.

I was on puréed for a week and now I'm on to soft foods.

I'm so jealous!!! I've been on liquids for 12 days postop....and 10 before! I should be moving to puréed after my doctors visit on Wednesday though!

@@Diamndgrl, I went to a follow up appointment yesterday and am down 19 lbs. since day of surgery. I've been losing about 3-5 lbs. a week so far. However, my appetite is starting to pick up so I'm hoping I'm able to maintain my weight loss even though I'm eating more. And congrats on being down 6lbs! Way to go! Don't get discouraged, it looks like you're on the right track.
