2 weeks post op. Today was my first day back at work. Totally sucked. I am on soft foods. About 6 small protien dense meals a day. It was hard to do at work. I'm totaly stressed about all this and don't even want to deal with work....I am a prison guard btw. .....surrounded by a-holes....the inmates are a-holes too.

That is a tough job to start back on - do you work 8 hour or longer shifts? .....I am going back next week after 2 weeks off - I will just be on pureed and I hope I can tolerate

ah, I was wondering how you were doing with the soft foods!

I think figuring out how to fit our new dietary needs into our work lifestyles is one of the hardest things, it's like learning a new dance routine. Some days when they want me on the front desk (where we can't eat) it has been a challenge - it took me a while to figure out a routine that worked for me and so I hope, and trust that you will also find a routine that works for you.

I do have to pack all my food and drink for the day, except dinner unless I am the late person in the morning and dole it out as I can to make sure I meet my needs. it's a challenge for sure.

Usually 8. Sometimes longer. Just gets busy and remembering to eat is tough. This whole ordeal has stressed me and work just adds to it.

You were highly frustrated and somewhat at wits end originally. Correct?

I guess the best we can do is take it day by day - plan for meals and try to not let the a- holes not get you down . Are you exercising too ?

Oh yes. Sorry. Didn't know what you were referring to. Yes I am doing better as far as that. But now the added stress of work I feel I'm going backwards.

Not exercising yet. Still too early. I'm actually not sure when I can start. I'll have to double check with dr. I think they told me but I can't remember.

I am at the gym walking on the treadmill - doing about 3 miles in a hour- but no other exercise -- - check with your team. Maybe when you are ready, the exercise might reduce some stress

How far post op are you? I know I can walk and should..I just feel tired...probably mix of healing and some lingering depression.

A week post op. I find I need to do the walking / I feel better after ( definitely a struggle ) . Helps my tire myself physically but also clears my head ( so good mentally too). Do you have people you can talk to ( besides the BP forum?).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
