Can anyone tell me if they give you something for the gas, from what I am reading from other post it's pretty bad the first few days.

They only gave me the pain meds and nausea meds. They said I would just have to walk and take deep breathes to expelled it. I honestly wish I had been able to pass gas though, because my burps are tiny and I still have a lot of gas blocked in my chest. I can only take teeny tiny sips of my broth, and Water. I haven't even gotten near my 15 1oz cups an hr. Its more like 4oz/hr for me since I still have so much pain. My incisions don't hurt too bad, just the gas and getting used to not taking a big gulp of water when I'm thirsty.

Day 2 of liquid diet in the books ????

I made that mistake yesterday. I brought an extra Jello today, and I had 2 cups of broth instead of one. I also only got in 2 Protein Shakes yesterday, but got in 3 today. I'm supposed to have 4 only 12 more days!!!

My surgery is the 27th and I just completed the second day of preop diet too. I lost 3 pounds the first day from being in the bathroom all day. I had my preop appt today and Doctor said to wait a couple more days and it should get better. Im just hoping it isn't all the lactose. I also have a pretty constant headache going, probably from being dehydrated from being in the bathroom so much. The doctor and nurse both said it starts to get easier on day 3-4.

My surgery is scheduled for July 21. I am scared of the pain but excited to be finally to this point. The pre-op diet is not too bad & my husband also eats what I cook for myself - even if it is just meat, a salad & a veggie. I only have 5 more days on this diet....yay!

Leaving for the hospital in about 2 hours. Nervous....very nervous. I've been up all night second guessing this decision. Wish I could sleep. That would help this night go by so much faster!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
