I'm only 17 days out. I started out around 200, and weighed 195 on the day of surgery. I weigh 177 today. I'm so grateful to have had this surgery and I haven't had one second of regret.

Do you mind me asking your height? I am at your starting weight and having sleeve surgery on August 1. You are doing awesome!!!

I'm 5'8. My weigh loss has slowed down. I'm 162 now and still thrilled with the results.

I started at 200 lbs I was sleeved on 7/11 so I'll be 2 weeks post op tomorrow and so far I've lost 12 pounds not as much as some stories I've seen/read of say someone who weighed more but I'm still happy with this loss it's just the jump start I needed, and the tool I was after to help me get my health as weight loss back on track!

Everyone is inspiring me as well. I'm so sorry that I rescheduled my endoscopy and now have to wait another 3 weeks. My weight is 215 but my B/S is lower in the AM since I've switched meds, but I'm ready to get off all meds. Good luck and

keep us posted.

My surgery is in the morning. I'm a ball of nerves. Say a prayer for me!

I weighed 212 the day of surgery. Three & half months out weighed in at 178. Size 16 to size 12. First 2 months are not easy as with any surgery - you need time to heal. I'm averaging 2.5lbs a week loss. To tell you the truth losing too fast would would make me worried about loose skin, hair loss & clothing purchases. I'm pleased with my weight loss - losing over 30lbs feels great! My personal goal is to loose 52lbs, wear a size 10 & to maintain it. I've never wanted to be skinny - just a healthier BMI.

Do your research & pick a surgeon with lots of experience!

Hi everybody!

I am really considering weight-loss surgery because I have been struggling with weight issues for six years... Tried everything and it doesnt work. Based on BMI, etc, I should be around 130-140. Therefore, I have about 60-70 pounds to lose. And as I was talking to a nurse she mentioned that weight loss for me was not going to be as fast as I expected. This kind of bummed me out because she mentioned that I would maybe 5 to 10 pounds a month... Even though I know weight-loss is good regardless of the amount, it kind of bummed and discouraged me...

Did anyone start off at around 200 lbs and have successful "normal" weight-loss in the first months? Please share your stories!

I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!

I was also insulin resistant before surgery and my BP was out of control. I was sleeved 7/12 weighing right at 202, after losing some weight on pre op diet. The last time I weighed was 186. I won't weigh again until Aug 12. Weighing obsessively was not mentally healthy for me, so twice a month is it for now. I have energy and I feel great; I started exercising as soon as I was cleared to do so and love that I can do more.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
