Pain meds - did you get pills or liquid?

I was surprised to learn from the OR nurse today that my doctor doesn't give a 'script for liquid pain killers.

I'm a little nervous about being able to swallow pills in the days following surgery.

Pills are fine, you just crush them up. Chances are you may not even need pain killers--I didn't but I took a few anyway just for the fun of it. One thing that is good, a homeopathic remedy called Arnica(it helps prevent brusing and swelling). I had mine done last Thursday and I feel great. Good Luck

you cant swallow pills after surgery..you have to crush the pills or take liquid form..i was hooked up to morphene pump after surg until i was discharged the next evening..but no more pills at all unless crushed says my dr...they will get stuck in the stoma...good luck...Brenda
