this had been my only real struggle post op.

I started with just a stool softener.

then I added Milk of Magnesia pills a couple of times a week.

then added them daily.

then added benefiber daily and now everything is good.

I had trouble even though I was not on any pain pills. I would start with the benefiber and stool softener and then add MOM as needed.

I'm 18 months post op now, but even at a few weeks out, I was taking miralax. My doctor told me to do half dosage per day. I still do that when things get rather problematic, but in general, staying hydrated REALLY keeps things moving. Even when I eat so few carbs, adequate water intake always helps. But definitely try some miralax (or call your surgeon and see if he/she ok's it, although I believe most do).
