My stomach ache is way better. It's almost gone. This morning I could still clearly notice it, but it was almost gone after having a Protein shake and so far it really seems to be almost gone, so it's way better than yesterday.

Upping the PPI seems to work. I also started the Ursofalk (in case it was because of bile reflux) capsules. I wasn't supposed to take them before week four post-op (after the liquid phase) but the surgeon said I could already start taking them three weeks post-op. The morning dose stayed down without any discomfort or problems. Just took the second capsule. The PPI capsules I still open and take the little granules with a spoon.

Have you tried egg salad or chicken salad? I am going to make that. I also saw a recipe for ricotta bake that looked good.

I have the ricotta bake in my oven right now lol. I can't freaking wait for it to get done.

Hey ladies I've been MIA btwn these blood clots...shortness of breath...and just this grey cloud over I didn't want to push my negativity on you all...I, like some of you ladies just don't feel like myself anymore...idk if it has to do with the eating or the illnesses but I'm just so tired all of the time so I'm actually restarting my anti depressants to see if it'll give me a boost...I hope you all are doing well... I'm down 23 pounds so that was definitely some encouragement

Did you stop your antidepressant at the same time you had surgery? I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down. From what everybody says, it's common and it will pass but right now I'm sure that doesn't really help.

Are the quads pretty much taken care of?

Is anyone working out yet? Because I'm not and I feel terrible about it.

Same here, I feel I should be working on my wings and belly but I have stuck with just walking.

I've been very active though...I'm running around all day and chasing and lifting my grandbaby (she's a chunk, I shouldn't be lifting her yet)

Everytime I think about doing something with my abs though I can easily convince myself it's too early

I stopped a month or so before surgery because the one I was on was coated so it couldn't be crushed....I thought it was the common down feeling but it's just gotten worse to a point I don't even speak to anyone and have lost complete interest in everything so I know it's a little deeper so I figured to start up again won't hurt....the clots are still under monitoring unfortunately the treatment that could be given to break them down giving me much needed relief is too dangerous because I'm so soon post op so I kind of have to just continue on with my thinners and hopefully my body will break them down on its own. The pain has relieved tremendously however when it comes it's terrible...the shortness of breath they say is cause of them but shouldn't be as severe as it is however after numerous tests they still can't find the cause so back to the surgeon n pcp I go to figure smthn out

@@yescres07 did you have clots in your lungs? I had two in my lungs but is was the one in my portal vain that sent me to the hospital. I didn't have pain meds at home so I think that is what sent me to the ER faster or who knows what would have happened. I can still feel tightness in my chest sometimes but I get around a lot better. Before I knew about my clots just walking up stairs made me sweat. I thought I was just weak from not eating.

None in my lungs thankfully but the portal is what sent me to the hospital as well. I have moments where I get around great but there are times like yesterday I couldn't walk a few steps without being completely winded I went to the ER and they found no cause...I realize the stuff leading up the clot but that pain I felt the day I went to the hospital I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy...glad you're doing better hopefully it'll just be up from here

I had to get one before surgery. It was mandatory before my insurance would cover it. I only just stopped bleeding. I get cramps still every now and then.

I hope to get off my depression meds one day but I didn't think it would be a good idea to do it anytime soon. I hope that things get better for you after you start them back up...that's no fun to feel so down.

Clots- they make me nervous, but it sounds like they are on top of it.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
