How long did it take your abdominal pain to fade? It totally sucks! I am on moraphine and it still aches!

Mine went away after about an hour n then it got better but they gave it to me through Iv first two days are going to be tough I think after morphine they gave me dilaudid which helped a lot. Ugh I feel so badly you're going through this. I found no underwear helped ease it also (sorry for the tmi lol)

Can you explain a little more what the blood clot pain felt like? I just developed a sharp ( but manageable ) pain on my left side ( maybe where I think my left lung is) only when I take a deep breath

I am going to sleep to see if it gets better for tomorrow before calling surgeon. Just wondering

I had surgery June 1 and have learned a lot through this thread ( thanks)

Prayers for you both dealing with clots!!! Very scary and I'm glad you got care before anything happened. If anyone has unexpected or severe pain - don't take chances and wait.

I didn't have sharp pain but a dull ach in my abdomen. If the sharp pain comes when breathing I would have it checked.

Mine was a sharp pain but it definitely

Started off very slow as I was asleep...

Lindsey how are you feeling? What are they doing for you?

Are they giving you fluids? Yes it's going to be rough but once they get the heparin going n it reduces the swelling it'll get somewhat easier

I had a hard time today...

I think I have been very strong since surgery. I came to visit my mother and she was making pork ribs with rice (her famous rice). I admit I wanted to eat so bad but ONLY out of fear of getting sick, I didn't. That isn't what bothered me. What bothered me was the thought of when it would be okay to eat rice with pork ribs. I know it's not okay now, but will I ever be able to eat pork? What about white rice? The rice I grew up with??! These thoughts kept getting longer and longer until I finally started crying. Sushi? Taquitos? I didn't think I'd miss food like this. I love pop corn. I love eating it with flamin' hot cheetos. When will I be able to enjoy that again? Sigh. Finally doubt set in.. Did I make the right choice?

I'm just having a rant... it's hard because the pureed food I'm eating now, I eat it so slow that I don't even enjoy it. Tiny little bites and I can't even taste. I feel so robbed.

I know it's for my health and when I step on the scale, it's worth it but I still feel sad sometimes.

Awe, you have done so well and have been so strong so far.....you may just be having a mini melt down, which is normal. I hope your feeling better today. It's so fun waking up each morning feeling a little more thinner and healthier, isn't it? :)

I'm so pumped about finding a cute little dress to wear when I get skinny. I haven't worn a dress in probably 25 years I've got such wide shoulders and carried a lot of weight in my stomach so dresses just didn't look good on me.

What is it that your looking forward to wear again?

I've been having some great days lately! I had RNY on the 24th, I think I'm down 16lbs. I'm on second week of pureed food.

I find instead of going out every day eating somewhere I'm hitting every health store, Walgreens...you name it, looking for the newest best Protein shake LOL

No the only gave them to me during my hospital stay. Did you give them to yourself in the stomach?

Yes, I received a prescription for 14 prefilled syringes and had to give myself a shot in the stomach once a day. Not enjoyable, but after listening to your stories, I'm quite happy I did!
I only got two shots in the hospital too but I would have gladly brought some home and did them

Same here. I feared clots more than an insufficient anastomosis.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
