Last Doctor Visit Today! Insurance Approval Here I come!

So, today is finally my last doctor visit of my six months of required visits. We thought last month was, but the bariatric center said they don't include my visit with the surgeon. So I called them today to make sure they have everything they need to send to the insurance company. I hope a decision is made quick so I'm not waiting forever! I did also finally decide on the Bypass vs the Sleeve.

I decided that since the bypass has been around longer, and many people go from sleeve to bypass that I would go right to it. My insurance is a one time thing, so if I had sleeve, then later wanted to have the bypass it'd be out of my pocket. I decided to just go right to the top step.

That is my exact reasoning, too, Harsha. I was unsure about sleeve vs bypass, but with the bypass there's 20 years of post-op data vs 5 for the sleeve, and since I only want to go on the operating table once if possible, I might as well do the bypass now. I don't know if I would have the insurance or personal funds to pay for a revision.

And....I am 48 years old and this has been a lifetime issue, so I ought to give myself the best chance of long term success.

Fingers crossed for your approval!

Well.... I just called the Bariatric Institute to find out what I need to do. I guess my chart is moved into the "call" pile. She said it looks approved, but she is not the one that deals with insurance so she didn't want me to get to excited... but it's in the approved pile.... OMG... call me back woman! Please!!!!
