I had my surgery on June 6th. Today I've been having a sharp pain right in the middle of my stomach when i bend over or lie on my side. Has anyone else had this post op? Thank you!

Alright, alright! Our June crew is shaping up. Let's keep in touch. I welcome the support as I am doing this alone. I'm divorced. Adult kids live far away. No current Boyfriend. I haven't shared this with anyone and I prefer it that way.

I am into my 6 months requirement stage but I am saying I will potentially have to have hiatal hernia surgery in early December which is not a lie. She is also correcting that at the same time. This is nothing for outside influences to condemn in my opinion! YOU GO @Lemm61. I have a feeling we are same age. Born 1961?

My surgeon told me to do a low carb diet from now until the day by before surgery. Then a clear liquid diet the day before and nothing after midnight. I am also scared of hair falling out and horribly sagging skin. I have about 150 to lose.

My biggest fear is losing my hair also...
My dr said make sure you get 80-100 grams of Protein every day and that helps to avoid Hair loss.

@@tholbert08 I had a large hiatal hernia repaired as well. And yes, I'll be 55 this November. 3 1/2 weeks post op now and feeling pretty good. Down 12 pounds since surgery. 44 pounds since January when I first weighed in at the WLS Clinic.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
