I was wondering if any of our newly banded crazy ates were experiencing any bruising with their scars. I have one quite dark coming down form where my port is located at the top of my stomach just below where my bra crosses.

I have some mild bruising on the incisions, but my biggest bruises are from the heparin shots I have to give myself. But the port one is where the biggest bruise is, my doctor told me that it was ok. I don't know what looks worse, where they tried to put an IV in me on my arm and failed or my stomach.

I don't have any bruising. However, I do have big blisters all over my stomach. Apparently, I am now allergic to latex. So I had to switch tape for my gauze. It's kindda weird though I have never had a problem before..

I have some bruising around my belly button incision and also bruises all over my arms probably from the surgery. Anyone else have a belly button incision?

I also have a belly button incision. I just had surgery yesterday and am supposed to remove the bandages later today. I will look then for signs of bruising.

My most visible bruise is around my port incision which i swear looks like it's 2 inches long. It's at the yellowish with a little purple stage. I had my surgery on 8/21. I have a couple other little bruises around a couple of the other incisions. My stomach is starting to itch, which is getting a little annoying.

I have bruising on all my incisions. The port site is the worst.

The spots may not be a reaction to latex. That is what I was told too when I had another surgery. I have told Drs. no latex for years. This Dr. assured me he did not use any latex and it happened again, and even blistered. Finally figured out I am having a reaction to the adhesive on the steri-strips, not the latex. I was advised to get Hydrocortizone Cream to put on it. That seems to be healing them and it also takes away the itching. I have some brusing, but the blister spots are worse.

Yes, I was noticing this morning that I have some bruises coming out as well. Mostly around the port site. They are a little yellow right now.

I am 2 days post-op with no bruising. About 2 months before surgery I started taking Vitamin C and B complex to help minimize bruising and speed up tissue regeneration. It really helped with the bruising, I don't even have a bruise at the IV site or where they took blood on Monday.

Me too, exactly! ...especially the itching! UGH! (Hi, band-twin )

My Dr told me to expect some bruising, because I take Aleve so much for the knots in my muscles.

Yes my tummy is beginning to look like one big bruis, yellow, purple, blue especially at the port site and where I would naturally bend - natural waist line. Ugh! I didn't have alot of pain but I still have some tenderness.

Most of my bruises seem to be disappearing but I just noticed this morning I have a new bruise right under my belly button extending down to my pubic area??

I might have done this to myself some how but I doubt it ... anyone else have bruising there? Seems weird it's so low on my belly. Maybe instrument placement of something during surgery?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
