August 2007 Bandsters still on their journey
I'm still here too! Going slowly and surely. One thing is for sure, I need to get back into the swing of going to the gym again. It's been a few months with every excuse under the sun as to why I don't feel like going. Who knows maybe if I actually get my butt back into gear and start doing more than just walking the pounds will start flying off again like I've wanted them to all along. I'm going to try to log in more often as well. I certainly need the support. Great job crazy ates! Let's continue to encourage each other and keep up the good work! Logging on and seeing everyone else's great progress has given me a dose of motivation. Thank you! I really needed that!

I haven't been around for awhile either I'm now down 62.5lbs total. I really need to buckle down and get back on track. I was really hoping to have been at goal by my Bandiversary. Apparently, I have some catching up to do with my fellow crazy 8's.

Best One-Year Anniversary NSV
That's great lessnless! I can't wait until I'm even 150lbs. It's been really slow going for me. However, I do have a NSV too. My work does an Employee Appreciation Day for us at Lake Compounce Amusement Park. I went last month with one of my co-workers who had the gastric bypass 2 weeks after I had my lapband just over a year ago. Anyway, when we went before our surgeries last year to the park we couldn't fit on any of the rides except for the Ferris Wheel. In which we were afraid of exceeding the weight limit with the two of us plus 3 girls under the age of 12. Well, this year we were sooooo excited like a couple of kids because we were in fact smaller than last year. The true test was the flying swings. We got in line and waited to get on. The gate opens and we go running in (yes, I said running) with the rest of them and picked out our seats. WE FIT!!!!!! :thumbup:Not loosely, mind you but we weren't stuffed sausages if you know what I mean. So I guess even if the scale isn't moving the inches still are. It would just be nice to see the scale move too.

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Thanks everyone! I had an un-fill of 0.2cc's on Monday and I'm feeling much better. I can get liquids down no problem and no longer feel like a water cooler (blub, blub). Unfortunately, I was so exited that I could get fluids and food down that I kind of forgot the "eat slowly" part and got sick once already. Today was much better. The scale moved a little bit more yesterday morning. I plan on upping my exercise also. It's just some days you'd rather just go home and relax after work instead of working out at the gym.

August Bandsters Get-Together? Anyone?
How about taking a cruise?:cursing: I've read that some of the other groups have gone and had a blast! I've been on Norwegian Cruise Lines before and you can sit with whom-ever for meals and there is no set times to eat. Maybe the Carribean? They have cruises starting at 5 days for $349 and up for an inside cabin.

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
I haven't been on in a while. According to my doc I'm doing really well. I'm not completely feeling this way. I just had my 7th fill for 0.5cc's for a total of 5cc's. They had me test drinking water before I left the office and I seemed fine. The next morning through the rest of last week I've had a really hard time getting even liquids down. By Friday and Sat. I was getting sick after every meal and that was on soft foods or just liquids. I was even taking small bites. You would have thought that the stupid scale would have moved since I wasn't getting in as many calories as before this last fill, but noooo it stayed at 210 ALL WEEK! ARGHHH! I'm getting so frustrated! The scale finally moved to 209 this morning and tomorrow I have to drive an hour an twenty minutes to my doc's other office to get an un-fill since they won't be back at the office up by me for another couple of weeks. I can't wait that long. I feel like I'm doing everything right and the scale is moving at a snails pace. I so thought that I would've been at my goal by my 1yr bandiversary.

Hair issues--help!
I've lost a good amount of hair also. My ponytail used to be so much thicker. Plus, I know in the winter we tend to shed more hair anyway. I can't wait for it to stop. I've been banded now for almost 5 months.

How to handle eating out?
It's good to get a copy of the menu in advance. You could always ask for a lunch size portion, which is smaller, or eat the portion size out of the meal that makes you feel full, not "stuffed" and ask to take the rest home. Most meal portions these days are way beyond the normal serving sizes anyway. So, if your group does happen to ask why you didn't eat that much, you could even tell them that the meal was soooo good you wanted to save some to take home and have again. I think others can be more critical and notice your eating habits more so when they know you've had the surgery. I have a group of friends at work that know I have the lap-band and are almost like the food police at times, yet others could really care less and not even pay attention to whats on my plate or whats left on it. Don't stress too much over it. You'll be fine.
