Kaiser Fremont- Dr. Hahn

Hey guys,

So tomorrow I have the surgeon/nutrition/coordinator consult (my surgeon is Dr. Hahn) at Kaiser Fremont. Has anyone here been sleeved or had their gastric bypass done by Dr. Hahn? Is he open to lots of questions? Is he super strict about losing all of the required weight before surgery? Does he put you on a strict pre op/liquid diet? After the consult, what is supposed to happen next? I'm so nervous lol. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

@Phoenix40...I called the Bariatric weight tracking line to report that I was within 5 pounds of the goal weight. The medical assistant called me the next day and gave me a psych appointment that was about two weeks later.

Thanks! I want to get an idea of the timeline.

Thank you! It was a struggle after my vacation in October and then the holidays. I want my surgery to happen no later the February 15th and I was ready to do whatever it took to get there.

Had my official weigh in today...I made it! I have exceeded the weight loss I needed for surgery. My appt for my psych eval I about a month from now. I hope that I can have my surgery in Feb. Crossing my fingers. I'm so close!

@Phoenix40....I am sooo happy for you! I think a Feb surgery date would be doable. Hopefully I won't be too far behind you (still struggling with the pre op weight loss).

@@audaciousmarie Thank you! I could not believe the number on the scale. My scale battery died Tuesday so I was going in blind and completely paranoid. I'm glad it all worked out. You got this! I hope you are right with me.

Hey everyone! I am going through Fremont too. My surgeon is Dr. Dutta. I am working on losing my pre-surgery weight now. Fingers crossed I get my surgery in the beginning of March.

Have any of you guys been to the Pleasanton support group? I'm going next Tuesday and am kinda nervous about it.

Hi @bekah7482...I have heard nothing but great things about dr. dutta. I don't think you should be nervous about the support group. The support groups are always positive and they are filled with very knowledgeable, personable and friendly people. Although, I highly recommend that you attend the support group at Kaiser Fremont that meets on various Fridays. Good luck to you and please keep us posted!

@bekah7482 What did you think of the support group?

I had my psych eval yesterday! It went well and was not bad at all. Now just waiting to hear back from the surgeon! Now the fear is starting to set in. I've never had any type of surgery and I am nervous about afterwards but I am so ready to do this!

I really liked it! I went to one session and will be going to another session next Tuesday (I had to miss the last one because of work). I am also thinking about stopping by a fremont session too. My bf loves in fremont and has been very involved in this process and since he can't make it to pleasanton, we were going to go to fremont so he can be part of a session and have a chance to ask any questions he might have.

@pheonix40 - how long did it take them to schedule your psych eval? I seem to remember you hit your weight a while ago. I am really hoping for a March surgery. I am 2lbs away from psych weight and 7 from goal.

Wow, your psychologist gave you a goal weight? The only goal weight I had was from my Surgeon. I'm with Fresno Ksiser.

No the surgeon gave me a goal weight but I have to be within 5lbs of my goal before I'm allowed to have my psych exam. So 2lbs away from being able to schedule my psych exam and 7lbs away from being able to schedule my surgery.
