What is everyone eating, after the post op diet? Realistically how much food is filling you up? Like 1/2c in one sitting? After you are one/ two years out does the amount increase at all or just what you are able to tolerate gets better?

I'm 8 1/2 months out, and I eat between 1/3 and 1/2 cup at each meal, three meals a day.

I clarified with my NUT Monday, and she said 4 oz (1/2 cup) permanently.

My Dr said that after healing is complete with the sleeve up to a cup is what it will hold.

After getting on solid foods I was instructed to keep meals to 1/4 cup in size. All Protein.

At the 4 month mark until now at 6 months, I was told to keep my meals to 1/2 cup in size. All Protein.< /p>

I've got my 6 month appointment coming later this morning where I'll learn what to go to next. I am guessing that Ill be staying with the 1/2 cup size.

He's told me in the past that by the one year mark I'll be moving up to a full cup in size. Mainly protein along with vegetables.

I'm 11 days post-op. Right now I can do 1.6 to 1.7 oz of cooked Protein (rotisserie chicken breast, for example). But I can do 4oz of yogurt. On Monday (2 weeks post-op) I can add in regular textured foods, Protein first, then non-starchy vegetables. I think it will be a struggle to eat more, though.

Until you are on solid foods you won't know your sleeves capacity. I could eat a cup of puréed Soup after surgery. As soon as I started real food no way could I eat that much. Until recently at 5 months I could only eat half of a boneless skinless chicken breast. Now I can eat a whole one if its small.

How does your nut expect you to get your Protein in if you are eating only a 1/4c at a meal 3 times a day ? They all want us to eat mostly real food and not Protein Drinks or powders but we can't meet out protein stats without supplementing. Sometimes I wonder if these people actually have degrees.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
