Swelling- How much and how long to go down?

Not sure which post you're referencing, but a sleeved stomach does get quite swollen postop. Most of that swelling is gone in the first couple weeks, but it still takes time for it to adjust to no longer having the super-stretchy fundus that it once had.

I'm 3.5 weeks postop. I can get in barely two ounces of something like soft canned chicken, but I can get in a half-cup of Soup. In the initial six months, that capacity is expected to increase to where I can get in 2-3 oz. of lean Protein at a time.

liquids empty faster from the sleeve, so generally folks can handle liquids in greater volume than solids, especially initially.

I hope this helps!

I didn't have any visible exterior swelling. They do pump gas into your abdomen to give themselves room to work and I suppose that could cause a little "bloating". But honestly, if you are obese, I don't think it would be enough to be visible to other people. You might just want to consider wearing some elastic-band pants home from the hospital.
