Need Lunch Box Recommendations :)

Recommended Posts

I know this question probably sounds like I'm back in grade school but now that I'm meal prepping, I need a good lunch box to take to work with me. I know some have compartments, some have Portion Control, some are more insulated. There are just so many to choose from, that I'm a little lost.

I would so appreciate if you all would share the ones you love and even post a picture if you have one! (Also, if you have a link to where to buy it, that would be even better.)

Thanks for helping me with this journey! :)

You'd laugh heartily at my lunch box....

I often walk into work with a grocery store plastic bag.....packets of tuna, salmon, beef Jerky, Protein bars and shakes inside. It's how I roll at work.

Nothing to bring home.

I found an insulated bag with a zipper top for three bucks at Ross. It has been the best lunch bag I've had.

I also roll with a Piggly Wiggly bag (yes, I am from the South) to work everyday. It is the easy throw away bag at the end of the day. I am forgetful about bringing lunch boxes home. I also have a couple of The compartment box that I got from Amazon. I am almost 8 months post-op so they hold a day of food for me. The only issue I have with them is that I have to wash the individual compartments when I get home. I am lazy about that, so I prefer the easy throw away[emoji1]

I got a cute one at target with an ice pack built in. Granted I have to put it in my freeze but it's pretty thin.

I have a really nice SACHI bag with room for an ice pack and 2 meals and Snacks. I am good for all day when I get to work, and do not need to fight for the refrigerator space. I can't believe how many coworkers put their insulated lunch bags in the fridge closed. anyway. I like to use my real flatware and dishes and a cloth napkin. :-)

mine is this style, but a black and white gingham print. http://www.sachi-bags.com/fun-hoot.html

I've always wanted an old-school Stanley lunchbox with thr round top - but they're noisy as can be to be getting stuff in and out of, and with as often as I'll be eating post sleeve, well, I'm sticking with my insulated bag and collection of teeny containers.

Have you checked out bento boxes? They're a cool way to pack little portions

I second the Jaxx, I really like it, use it every day, came with Portion Control containers and this handy vitamin/supplement container.

I got a waxed canvas lunch bag that looks a lot like a brown paper lunch bag, but is a little bigger, reusable and has a leather closure strap. It was a little overpriced for what it is, but I like the simple and flexible design.

Packit lunch bag. You freeze the whole thing at night. No separate ice packs because it's in the lining of the bag.

Folds up really nicely to bring home and for freezer.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
