I have to admit I still have shakes and Protein bars and I've been at goal for over a year. My nutritionist and surgeon are ok with it. shakes don't hold me over as long as a bar does but I like to mix it up from day to day. I just ordered some combat crunch bars from Amazon prime. I never liked the Quest ones. You have to find what works for you long term. This isn't a diet for one year. It's a life style and if your not into cooking and making everything from scratch and have a sweet tooth like me this has helped me stay at goal.

Good luck-

I was look on Amazon ,GNC has them by the bar. But yes I have to consider what works for me although I haven't gained I still would like to get my Protein in. Seems like I can implement them in my diet somewhere it couldn't hurt.

The whole process will be a lot of trial and error in the first year or so. The guidelines from nutritionists and usrgeons are a great start and very important while you are still healing. But you ultimately have to figure out what will work for you long term and how you can live the rest of your life. I think the goal to get more protein in, by whatever means, is a noble one. Even with all the variation in programs and advice, I think one thing we can almost all agree on is that protein is key to long term success!

Yes, that is so true. I have to fine a routine and do what's best for me in the end.

This is the recipe for the bars. I made them for the first time this week. You can add in whatever you like. If the scan is not clear let me know. It is from the cookbook Thug Kitchen. I made the bars with barley instead of millet because I could not find it. Let me know if you end up making these. I think the image posted upside down and for that I am sorry.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
