4/20 surgery date! Day 1 liquid diet.

Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

Oh, and started in Feb. Had to change surgeon in March and it delayed my surgery date by 2 weeks :(

April 18th! This is my first posting (I've been lurking and reading for months. :) ). I'm nervous that I'll fail, but I have to have to believe that I can do this! It seemed so far off- and now it's just over a week away. WOW, how did that happen?!!?? as far as prep goes, my surgeon has a 1400 calorie day diet but I've been using Protein drinks (1-2) a day and a small meal. It's just easier for me. My biggest hurdle is trying to get over this darn bronchitis which threatens to push my surgery back if my primary care dr doesn't clear me for surgery next week! I've talked with my work about going out for the month and this would be just a mess if I have to move it! I've been taking everything religiously- and while I'm better it's still lingering! I can't wait to get on the other side!!s

I hope you get feeling better soon! My surgery is on the 18th also and I JUST got over the flu. I went to my pre admission testing and when she took my temp I nearly passed out from holding my breath (I couldn't breathe through my nose and had to keep my mouth closed) lol. I was so scared they would push back my surgery as well. Keep us updated!

I'm scheduled for April 20th. Starting 3rd day of pre op diet. Honestly hasn't been too bad. I am down 6lbs already. Hopefully I can lose a few more before surgery.

Andi...I'm on for 4/18, and nervous, excited and rarin to go. A bundle of emotions, I'm sure like everyone else. I have had surgery before, so I know what to expect. (sort of). I have a great surgeon, an awesome nurse/coordinator, and am in good hands. I've lost 80 lbs. on my own, and 175 to go. I'm already thinking about the skin surgery. I feel great, and looking forward to feeling even better. Good Luck with your journey.

How's it going so far?
I'm not gonna lie. It's pretty terrible. I had my pre surgical tests today too so no food all day yesterday and no Water all morning. The first thing I got to consume today was barium. I wanted to vomit.

I'm very jealous of all the people on this diet that just have to have a low cal diet. I'd much rather that to no food at all!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
