Anyone else have a broken mirror?

Recommended Posts

So I'm pretty sure every mirror I have looked in lately is broken...I am not sure who the heck that person is starting back at me!

It's crazy the changes I see with only having lost 40lbs so far! I can't even fathom what I will loom like at my goal weight ....

Am I the only one with a "broken" mirror?!?

I keep wondering why my sleeves are soooo long suddenly. Apparently I have lost in the shoulder area.

Your mirror's not broken, your old habits are. Congratulations!!! Trust that the person you see in the mirror is the new you. Don't forget about the old person with the bad eating habits, but don't keep looking back over your shoulder either. That person doesn't exist anymore. Enjoy your reflection and use it as incentive to keep making good choices. Believe it, embrace it, and love it!!!

I think my mirror lives on a different planet. I don't know the person I see in it.

We went to the theatre to see a play last weekend and off I toodles to the loo before it started. I saw a woman washing her hands at the sinks on the other side of the room and in a split second I thought, 'goodness her legs look good and such a tiny tush' THEN I realised down the long hallway of sinks, in the ceiling to floor mirror was MY reflection. I swear to God, I still can't get my head round it! People keep telling me I look good but to me, well my head needs to catch up with my body, when it comes to believing how well I have done. I bought a pair of size 12 (uk) and 8 (USA) jeans last month and i love wearing them !!

P.S Must get my eyes tested :P

My WLS-supportive physician advised me to take a photo of myself in the mirror every Friday. I have been doing that for 14 months. The changes are astonishing.

Like you, I cannot believe the person I see now in the mirror is the same woman from before. And it's only going to keep getting better as I go for those last 40 pounds! Woo weeeeeee!

Learn to love that person, and believe in them and what they can be!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
