900 calorie diet several weeks before surgery

Does anyone else think this is a bit much? I started a 900 calorie diet monday and have already lost 14lbs.

My surgery keeps being moved due to having sinus and ear infections. I'm just waiting for the call for a date.

I figure I'd start a pre op pre op diet. If that makes sense. I've seen ppl on my 600 pound life start a 900 calories a day diet before being approved. .I'm kind of scared to gain weight before they call me for a date. I Track all my food and water intake on my fitness pal. Has anyone else done this ?

Hi Valeria1982,

I am in the same boat. I am waiting for the phone call that I am approved. Everything was done by Jan 13, and I still do not have confirmation on a date. My surgeon has me on a pre-surgery diet of 1200 calories. I do use FP to track and make certain I am getting enough Protein. Goal is at least 100 g. of protein a day- prior to surgery. It is so hard waiting. I had a glass of wine tonight. While it is not officially on the diet, it is within my calorie intake- and needed something as a treat for the long wait...

Hi Marie

I was doing 1200 calories also ..I just switched it this week and lost the 14 pounds. . I'll have to switch it back to 1200 monday .. I make sure I get enough protein also.. I drink a protein shake in the morning and lunch.. and have chicken and veggies too.. I try to switch it up.. I love chicken and fish. . I'm really prepared for all this..I just don't like the waiting around.. lol

I hope u enjoy your glass of wine ????

I'm smack dab in the middle of 2 weeks of a 900 calorie pre op diet. Couple that with no caffeine, and I can imagine I am a sweetheart right now. Definitely an adjustment, but it will be worth it. March 1st here I come!
