I'm curious I had surgery yesterday and I realized I don't have a drain but when I had my gallbladder removed I did....did this happen to anyone else?

I had a drain but they pulled it out right away because it was leaking, I don't think its a necessity

I had bypass but no drain

I'm up for my RNY soon and my surgeon has already assured me that I will not have a drain either. Said he hasn't placed a drain in a patient in forever.
