So frustrated I feel like I could cry.

Recommended Posts

I hate to be another "I haven't lost any" whiner and I know it's normal and I know I should accept a stall. But I'm basically so upset at this point I feel like I could cry. I had surgery on 12/28 and since then I'm down about 24 pounds.

I haven't lost any in 2 weeks. This week I did start my period (which have been super irregular since the surgery) so I could blame that to make myself feel better, but I don't think that is why.

I don't get it.

I get at least 90 oz of Water a day. I take my Vitamins, I eat what I'm supposed to, getting 60+ in Protein daily. My calorie intake isn't high. I will do 1-2 Protein shakes a day, tuna for lunch, and something like a turkey burger or lunch meat for supper. I work out 3 times a week. I don't know what else to do and I am so upset.

Am I expecting too much? I don't have scales at home, so I weigh at work. I am thinking of buying one to have at home so I can weigh first thing...naked, haha am I grasping at straws here?

I should say that the weight I am now is what I weighed all through college. Is my body just like "oh ok, we'll stay here forever again"??

I think my brain is just confused because every diet ever was calories in vs. calories out, and according to that I SHOULD BE losing, but I"m not.

Sorry for the rambly rant. I just needed to get it off my chest to some people who would understand.

I'm 5 months post op and lost 22 pounds. Doing everything your doing first 3 months 20 pounds and then a 2 month stall then 2 pounds now on a stall again , so your doing great, better than me lol

Please please relax and follow your plan. You are better off weighing once a week or once a month!

I am currently 3 weeks post surgery and experiencing my first stall after coming off my cycle. At first I was a bit upset but so far I've lost 20lbs since my surgery on 1/27 so I can't be too upset.

I had surgery on 12/28 as well and I am down 26lbs but I have happy with my results. I told my self before surgery as long as I lost 12.5 pounds a month I would be at my goal weight by my birthday (November). I've already accomplished that for Jan and Feb so any extra lost this month is a bonus. I know some people who have had the sleeve and where 60lbs down in 2 months but I wont feel like a failure if I don't do the same. All out bodies are different and we will all lose weight at a different pace. I think it is AWESOME you have lost the weight that you have and like everyone has stated on here, just follow your plan and keep up the exercise and only weigh yourself once a week.

@@ready4therealme I'm glad you are pleased with your losses so far, but 12.5 pounds per month every month is probably an unreasonable expectation and I'm afraid you are still setting yourself up for frustration and disappointment a couple of months down the line. Just please promise me that if/when the losses slow down, you won't give up. This is a marathon, not a sprint and setting deadlines for your weight loss is a recipe for disaster.

@@JamieLogical Most definitely. I know I will have to adjust my goals along the way. I want to be healthy and if it means slower process then I am ok with it. As long as I continue to make better choices I know I will succeed. and I am sure there will be lots of disappointment and frustration along the way. and Im ok with that!

I don't weigh myself every week. I like once a month. Seeing a higher number lost makes me feel better. I get discouraged when I weigh every day or every week and don't see anything lost so to avoid the counterproductive weekly weighing, I just keep it to the first of every month.

When browsing these forums before my surgery I would had scoffed at this & said 'why are you complaining?' but now I am in exactly the same situation and feeling exactly the same!!

Like you I know that 'it is part of the process' but it is tough! We are all in rush to see the results of this bloody hard work we are doing! I am just onto the start of my fourth week post op and praying the scales will move, I am down 19lbs so far and the scales haven't moved in almost over 1.5 weeks now! so depressing!

But we have no option but to just keep on going! :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
