6 Months Out, How Is It Going?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on July 29th and would love to hear from all my fellow July and August sleevers. How has your journey been so far?

I was sleeved 8/3, loving my sleeve. I am down 78lbs including preop, wish it was a little more, but I am grateful. I had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago, and that has changed my eating pattern and exercising too, but hope to get back on track soon, as soon as I can get off the pain medication. Sounds like you are doing well, thanks for asking.

I was sleeved on Aug 10. Im down 80 lbs including pre op. I no longer have sleep apnea! Im doing great! I love how I have so much more energy and i am really enjoying living an active lifestyle now. The hardest part for me is getting in all my Water. I was hopping it would get easier as time went on but i still really struggle with this. How are things going with you Ayrw71? From the looks of your stats your doing AMAZING!

I guess I did kinda forget to mention how I was doin. Lol! The first few months were very difficult. I had constant nausea and vomiting everyday. It has gotting so much better and I would do it all again. My sleep apnea has also drastically improved. I am still learning my "full" spot and sometimes go way too far and it becomes uncomfortable. But I am loving my decision to do this and loving the results. It's great to hear that everyone is going well.

Here's to our continued success!

My six month check up is next week. I was sleeved on August 14. HW 230 SW 215 CW 159. I had a horrible stall the entire month of January up until today. Whew! I was starting to panic a little. Great job everyone! It was really hard for me the first 2 months but I love my sleeve now.

I was sleeved on 7/8/15 and am down 129 lbs so far ... 30 more to go to my big goal ... and anything after that is a bonus!

I ( knock on wood ) haven't had any major issues ... still learning what "full" means ...

Discovering so many new and wonderful things that I can do now because this extra person I was carrying around is gone!

I actually enjoy clothes shopping for the first time in YEARS ...

Down from a 32 pant to a 20 and 4xl/5xl shirts to a xl ...

AND ...

I can actually buy clothes in a REAL STORE! No more catalog only shopping for me!

I would do this all over again in a heartbeat ...

BY FAR THE BEST DECISION EVER!

I was sleeved July 29 and am down 117 lbs including preop diet. Along the way I've shed many clothing sizes (50 to 36 in pants; and XXL to L in general) My co-morbidites have disappeared and I'm off all meds but my daily Vitamin supplement and nexium, I feel great and more alive than I have in many years. Still finding my way about what I can and can not eat, but all in all I am really happy I did this!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
