6 month surgiverary/how's everyone doing

Recommended Posts

First, thanks to everyone on here who shares their stories, good and bad. It really is a very great group of people, and what a sense of camaraderie.

Today is 6 months, cannot believe it, scary how time flies. I am down 78 lbs with preop and 64 lbs since surgery. I always felt like I was a slow loser, especially in the beginning, but where and how else would I ever have lost this kind of weight in 6 months, so grateful for this sleeve. I have had some difficult times, especially with the Constipation. I had a total knee replacement, 12/22, and it has been a very painful recovery, still on narcotics, soon to be off, I hope, and so it has been a challenge at times dealing with that and the food plan. Of course, I also had to stop going to the gym, have not yet returned, as I am in physical therapy for the knee recovery. I can only do my best, and stick to the plan as best I can. I sometimes worry about the future, if and when I will gain weight back, but I just keep that as a distant thought. I still have about 45lbs to go, and I will just concentrate on reaching goal, at 1 year hopefully if not sooner. Good luck to all who have had the sleeve, and to those who have not yet had it, good luck as well, it is so worth it.

Great job so far, that is impressive and considering your knee replacement! Today is my 5th month and I'm down 50 total. I have about 45 left to go as well. We got this!

Congrats !!! :)

I will be having knee replacement sometime in the near future ... but I'm not ready just yet ....

I'm at 7months and down 127 ... I have 32 more to go to my BIG goal ... and anything after that is a bonus :)

You're right ... where else would we have been able to lose this much weight and KNOW that we cannot gain that much back ?!

SOOO blessed and grateful to have my sleeve .... I wouldn't trade it for not even ONE Hershey bar ...

I'll smell the Hershey bar ... but I wont eat it :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
