Frustrated! Why is BCBS (FED) saying they havent received my package

Hello my name is Felicia, and I finished all my requirements January 13, 2016. My insurance coordinator said she submitted on Tuesday but It takes time because it goes to different dept. Mind you she is my surgeons wife so I figure she is telling the truth. I have been calling my insurance twice a day and they still say they haven't received anything and that it takes 3 days to upload faxes into their system! Can anyone confirm this? I'm getting impatient and I'm about to freak out! I wouldn't care if the "review" took long I just hate that they say that they don't have it at all!

I know it is hard but have patience. Many insurance companies are huge and new mail or faxes can take time to get uploaded in the system and routed to a queue. Most big insurance companies get their regular bills electronically filed so the paper mail can take longer since it isn't automated.

Don't forget that Monday January 18th may have been a holiday for them.

December, January and early February can be very busy periods for insurance companies too. Many people are trying to get their medical bill finalized for 2015 so they have what they need for filing taxes. More people get sick in the winter with colds/flu and slip and falls due to ice. December also has a few holidays and people have to use their vacation or loose it.

Still frustrating.

You're right @@NikkiDoc ill try and be more patient. B)

I have BCBS Federal and they received the info immediately and processed it within a matter of days. Maybe your surgeon's office could resubmit the info? Maybe the fax didn't go through properly or something?

I am so happy that they have it! WOOHOO!

Mine showed up the next day I think but the insurance rep said they hadn't received many faxes so that is why it happened quickly.

Some people get fast approvals and some take the whole 14 days. Fingers crossed that you find out soon. I bugged them almost every day (they were so nice). :)
