On Monday I had a chemical stress test so that my cardiologist could look and them and see if he would clear me for my surgery that was scheduled for Jan 26th and I was very excited and anxious since I started this process 8 months ago.
June 2015 I started the process of getting qualified by insurance, this required 6 months supervised dieting, clearance from my cardiologist and psych evaluation.
August 2015 My cardiologist requires that I take a chemical stress test, which finds that I have something that looks like a blockage. He urges me to have a heart catheter and they find two blockages and place 2 stints in my heart that I never knew I needed. Low and behold those two stints made a world of difference in how I feel. I never knew how bad I felt and I am happy that he forced the issue because I might have had a heart attack in the future and been totally unaware. The problem is they said they would suggest 6 months before WLS.
I completed all other requirements including my 6th month supervised diet in November and they submitted to insurance and I was approved.
My surgeons office said we could schedule for Jan 26, 2016 as long as the cardiologist would release me and I got excited.
Jan 4 the cardiologist required another Chemical stress test to see how my stints are looking. I complied.
Yesterday I get a call from the cardiologists office, they looked at my scan and everything looks good BUT the surgeon who did my stints says that he really doesn't feel comfortable releasing me until it has really been 6 months, which won't be until Feb 28th!!!
I realize they have my best interest in mind and of course they don't want anything to land on their heads so ok, I am resigned to that, but why let me think there is a chance if they were going to absolutely stick to 6 months. If they had just told me NO you have to wait 6 months I would have said fine....Its just that kept leading me to think I could be close to my 6 months and do it.
Anyway....Now I am scheduled for March 1st, 2016. Seems a long way off but it better happen this time or I might see my bitchy side.
