Five days post op from my band to bypass revision.

Recommended Posts

I originally got the band in 2010 and did fine with it up until the past year when I started having constant nausea and severe pain on my left side. Originally thought I had a kidney infection, nope just my band majorly slipping and a lovely case of GERD that lead to Barrett's. So yes, got my band out and my roux en y all in one swoop, my abdomen is killing me! The left side where the doctor pulled everything out of feels like my guts are going to come out at any minute. I struggle to sleep comfortably and am just getting overall super frustrated with everything. Am I the only one that dealt with this issue? Ready to get over this and start feeling back to normal

It does take some time to get back to normal. I didn't reach my "happy state" when all the minor problems were resolved until the 6 month mark. But it was all worth it.

I found that when I sleep on my side that sliding in a pillow between my legs helped.

It definitely can take a while to feel better. I went from sleeve to bypass and it took probably about 6 weeks to start feeling better. It definitely is a major surgery and because you already had a surgery on your stomach I think the second time around, it takes a little longer to heal. Go slow and take care of yourself and time will heal!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
