December sleevers

Recommended Posts

Looking for a buddy to connect with. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on 12/15. My pre op diet is giving me head aches. I'm so hungry. I'm started to feel discouraged and thinking maybe I should cancel. I'm nervous and scared.

You can do this! My surgery is tomorrow morning and I am nervous too! I've had thoughts like..."maybe I should just be fat and happy"...but I know myself and I am not happy and feel like crap all the time! We will be so happy when we look back on our journey and reach our goals! Good luck to you!!

My surgery is the 16th so we can stay in touch if you want! I'm nervous too but when I need reassurance I just take a selfie and I'm ready.

Thanks everyone. I needed the encouragement. Taking a selfie is not a bad idea. That will keep me going! It's nice to know I have others to talk to.

So glad I found this post. Mine is 12/21 so I'm only on day 3 of the pre-op diet. All the sweet shakes are rough. I craved salt today.

Definitely nervous, like you, about being able to handle it all after the fact but am motivated by the incredible change for the future that lies ahead. (wow that sounded super cheesy).

I am down to keep in touch if you are!

My Sleeve was 12/15 as well. I'm happy to buddy with anyone! So far I'm the only person I know that has ever done a sleeve so it's not easy to find anyone to relate.

I'm in Kansas.

I went with Soup I like (but stuck with the light variety) cream of potato, which I didn't need to blend but veggie and bean Soup mostly. The dietician at the Drs office said I could eat most any soup that had been blended and it's worked great so far.

Today was the first day I got to eat smoshy foods, so I had a scrambled egg this morning. I don't think I've ever been so happy to eat an egg.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
