Hi guys I'm deeply considering getting this surgery done. I am already approved and all I have to do is make the decision I just wanted to figure out a bit more first was reading these conversations and saw the word stall or stalling. What does it mean to stall?

Periods of time when you do not lose despite following the program. can vary from a few weeks to months.

Sleeved 11/17. That date I was 215. I am now at 196. I have only lost two pounds in about 10 days.

Go ahead and compare to me.... You won't be disappointed.

5 days up 11 pounds from surgery day.

11 days Weighed the same as surgery day.

6 weeks postp lost 17 pounds

7 weeks gained 3 pounds

10 weeks back to 17 pounds lost

12 weeks lost 25 pounds postop.

As you can see, stalls and even gains are normal. Also notice that I only weighed myself 6 times in the first 3 months. scale numbers DO NOT MATTER. Just stay on plan, STAY OFF THE scale, embrace the NSVs and have fun!!!!

Hrtnsol10, 49 lbs in 2 months is amazing! !! Does it feel odd inside your body, or in your brain, to lose that much that fast?

I had mine done Oct 15, 2015 and hit 60 pounds lost. But like others have said, don't compare your loss to others, It'll make you crazy. The are too many varibles from person to person and certainly male or female.

I am still working on NOT worrying about losing more or less from week to week. It's going, that is the important thing.

Please don't compare ur lost with others. I started in February 24 with 220 now I weight 130 . Everyone is not the same. This is the best decision I had made. No more diabetic and high blood pressure.

Just keep in mind as you get answers that there are many, many factors that determine how much weight people lose. Comparing your potential losses to others can be a slippery slope. I know. I was a very slow loser compared to many. It was only when I stopped comparing and just did my own thing was it easier for me to just keep moving forward until I finally made my goal weight.

Looking back, how quickly or slowly I lost weight doesn't matter one bit anymore! The fact that I lost it and am now maintaining it does.

@@Babbs thanks for highlighting this. I agree 100%. And also, congrats on losing and maintaining.

As I typed before, there is no comparison to other. I haven't met anyone who has had surgery so I just wanted to hear from others. I started working out and will amp that up after surgery. I am just in the waiting game now. In 2 weeks,if I get insurance approval, I would be home recovering!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
