What can I do with...cottage cheese?

Recommended Posts

Apple, cinnamon, a dash of splenda brown sugar

Yum!

I grew up with cottage cheese being associated with sweet stuff (eg: added jam, fruit etc)

It boggles my mind to see stuff like salt and pepper or salsa and tomatoes added!

I have never had any of that with cottage cheese. Who knows, maybe I'll try it and actually like it!

????

shriracha, curry powder, pumpkin or sunflower seeds(FULL FOODS! be careful with seeds, chew really well or grind in a spice mill), mixed into a scrambled egg with salsa, mixed into diced chicken and dried cranberries as a chicken salad.< /p>

OMG I have to laugh, I was reading this as a recipie rather than a list of different suggestions and was taken aback--Was considering maybe trying the odd combination but the volume of it all know you added the egg AND the chicken...LOL...and now on early could all that together be termed a chicken salad?

I think I need some sleep!

I wanted to update with my latest variation of cottage cheese.

I got some packets of organic Mediterranean dip mix. I have mixed some into my cottage cheese lately and it is really tasty.

Hey Inner Surfer, do you have a brand name on the dip mix? I would like to try that, sounds good

Simply Organic Greek Yogurt Dip Mix in Mediterranean Herb. I haven't tried it in plain Greek yogurt yet but I will (probably with cucumber). It is really good in cottage cheese.

I happen to love cheese, and cottage cheese has come to be one of my go to meal and snack staples.

I like cottage cheese plain, but I also like it topped with something tasty.

I like it with various toppings and add-ins like:

Freshly ground black pepper

Fresh, ripe, sliced Tomato

Fresh herbs (like dill)

Fresh fruit

Cucumber yogurt salad

Greek salad toppings

Kalamata olives

Pickled beets

Dash of Salad Dressing

What do you like to add to your cottage cheese?

I can't eat it.

There are few foods that I don't truly enjoy.....I'm cursed that way. Cottage cheese, however, is one that I can live the rest of my days and never eat again.

I don't know why I'm like that, but I can't stand the stuff.

My list of foods that I'll never eat:

Cottage cheese

Bologna

any organ: liver, gizzards, etc

green peas

Foods that I love:

Damn near everything else...............

Babbs, how soon after surgery did you start eating tomato? I love tomatoes and surgeon said soft veggies are okay, just curious.

My favorite thing is to add a drop of vanilla, 1/2 a Splenda and some diced strawberries or some blueberries. Tastes like cheesecake if you close ur eyes:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
