Always hungry.... i think something is wrong.... Please help!

Recommended Posts

I haven't been on here in a few months but I had a problem that came up and I decided to come to you guys. I always seem to get the best answer here from people with the gastric sleeve as me.

Well here we go... For the last month I have been hungry all the time and if I do not eat I get weak and light head. The hunger hits me every 2 to 3 hours. This is unusual for me. I feeling I am eat way too much. This is scary to me because I gained 8 pounds from this issue even though exercise daily. I really don't know what to do here. I took pregnancy test and I am not pregnant and this is really worrying me.

I wondering do I need appetite suppressants now like adipex? Is anyone else experiencing this or is there anyone out there with suggestions? HELP PLEASE!!!

Thanks in advance sleevers!!!!!

I'm not a medical professional, but what you're describing sounds like reactive hypoglycemia. I know there are others on this forum who have dealt with it--try doing a search.

Are you hitting your Protein and Fluid goals? Are you limiting starchy foods? If not, that's a place to start.

It sounds like you are even hungrier that I am and I'm hungry a lot. I do take 40mg of omeprazole and that helps some (takes the hunger from a 9 to a 5) but I'm still hungry. It sucks because that was my main goal for this surgery - to not have hunger anymore. I've always been a person with ridiculous hunger (were you?) and my doctor thinks it is just that I have an acidic system and so the omeprazole is the best bet.

I have no answer for you and I feel your pain. I'm hitting my Protein and Fluid goals. Instead of 800-1000 calories a day that I should be eating, I find myself at the end of the day at 1,600 to 2,000. Major bummer!

I am only 6 weeks out from surgery and I eat every 2-3 hours.

Definitely talk to your doctor if this is not normal for you. It could be something to do with your blood sugar levels.

Make sure you are getting enough liquids.< /p>

If you are exercising more, then your calorie intake needs are usually greater.

Another thing you could do is review what you've been eating and make lower calorie substitues (fat-free or low-fat options, Soup, etc.).

I think it is really likely you have let too much sugar get back into your diet and are having carb cravings and blood sugar issues. Go back to basics with low carb and see your nut.

I wonder if what you are experiencing isn't hunger at all. I also take omeprazole for reflux, and when I don't take it I find myself eating a lot more frequently. In part because eating pushes the acid down, but I also misinterpret the bubbly feeling as hunger.

I think I may be reflux or it could be the hypoglycemia because I do get weak, light headed and the rapid heart beats. I don't take anything for reflux but maybe I should start there. Hopefully that helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
