I'm struggling with this problem also. I can't eat more then 800:900 calories a day, I feel very weak. I'm 121 lbs for 5"5. Start weight 240, bypass March 2015. My surgeon really think everything mechanically is working. We did a endoscopy, ct scan, but I still can't eat much, he ask the psychologist to see me. I'm really worried at this point. My goal should be 135 lbs so How to get this 15 lbs back? On a stressful day like yesterday I only eat 500 cal. Any suggestion is welcomed. Also I'm going to UCLA Bariatrics for a second opinion in February .

So it seems strange as many posts have asked the original poster what she eats..................no response. The bottom line is you are still losing weight because you are eating few, low calorie foods, simple as that. There are many higher calorie foods, softer foods, Soups, that you could consume to gain weight. The bigger problem could be a mental one; fear of gaining/anorexia.

Can't or won't. There is a big difference. Why can't you?

Because, I haven't had time to post what I eat.

I eat:

String cheese

Dannon light and fit yogurt (2 a day probably)

P3 (for breakfast)

lunch is usually a small chili or bacon chicken ranch salad from Wendy's with light ranch. Or a Subway Turkey chop salad with fat free ranch.

banana

berries

mandarin oranges

hummus

apples with cashew butter or almond butter

I don't do well with meat. :(

I started putting it in Myfitness pal today as per the request of the NP.

I would say fear of gaining.

I actually had a dream that I lost too much weight last night. It is really weird, but I am far from that at this point and knew it was a dream.

I think people have harped enough on the whole what are you eating issue. I do think it is a great idea to plug everything into an app so you can see what it looks like when you add it up. Also, is there any weight lifting or strength training-you may need to add some muscle, or even prevent losing muscle. Protein is your friend and if you are not getting enough with the foods you eat, add shakes back in.

Just my thoughts

Are you getting in all of your Protein every day? I ask because if you haven't tracked your food before today how do you know of you are following your program?

Also, when I asked whether it was can't or won't I meant in relation to eating more than 800 calories.

It sounds like you really need an appointment with your NUT and a counselor or therapist to help you through this.

Yesterday, we set up an appointment with the Therapist for next Wednesday, Nut the following Wednesday and my Surgeon wants to see me. I see him on January 7th.

The NP said, I will be closely monitored and my surgeon will probably hand me to her to see for follow-ups after I see him on January 7th.

My brain is so trained to not eat, its flipped a switch to scared to gain. I am so worried about ruining my pouch and regaining all that I have lost. Does that make sense?

I think she wants me to track my food, to get an idea of what and how little I am eating. Not to mention nutrients I am missing.

I honestly, never that I would be in this position.

I honestly think I am dehydrated. I probably should of asked for some fluids.

I did tell her I am having problems with dizziness. She thinks it is from transitioning from sitting to standing.

I can't I just tried some Pasta with homemade tomatoes sauce and I vomit the all thing. Anything solid hurts until I let it out. I was able to eat salmon. And shrimps without problem, that's why I think something is wrong. Monday upper GI with barium. How can this be a mental problem, I'm hungry, I want to eat.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
